About This Spot

Stepping into SESAME feels like entering a warm corner of Athens where tradition meets a lively neighborhood spirit. The air carries the quiet hum of familiar conversations and the comforting clink of cutlery, inviting you to slow down and savor more than just the meal. It’s a place that welcomes families, friends, and locals alike, unfolding a layered experience of casual conviviality blended with heartfelt hospitality.

The pace here is unhurried, the atmosphere relaxed but touched with a subtle energy that speaks of shared moments around the table. It’s the kind of spot where the days stretch gently into evenings, and laughter might spill over just as easily as the glasses on the table. There’s a sense of care woven into the space—the smiles behind the counter, the small jokes exchanged, the way dishes arrive with a quiet attention that feels curated rather than staged.

The food at SESAME is an intimate conversation with Greek culinary heritage, moments of creativity intertwined with timeless favorites. The flavors unfold with ease—a fresh salad that feels like a crisp breath of the local summer, tender bites that evoke the sun-soaked countryside, and desserts that linger like whispered secrets at the end of the meal. Here, the menu is less a checklist and more a collection of stories, each plate shaped by local ingredients and thoughtful hands.

SESAME’s charm lies not just in its plates but in the feeling of returning to a place that knows you—or invites you to become familiar. It’s a quiet reassurance that amidst a bustling city, there is still room for connection, comfort, and the simple joy of good food shared without pretension.

Excellent service and very nice variety menu. Suitable for families and our Sunday family lunch out and not only. Worth a try. Very delicious plates of greek cuisine.

I loved this place. Everything was tasty, fresh and well cooked. Only the menu needs to be replaced. The dessert was the absolute highlight. Well done! Coming back with the first chance!

Friendly staff , Vasilis is smiley , with nice humor and trying his best to be convenient! Nice beef and pork . Tasty salads. Hmmm, nice sfakianopita-marathopita. Not a perfect risotto but tasty!!! ( they don't use arborio rice that's why. They use the same with gamopilafo). Lively gamopilafo. Not good - for my taste- makarounes. Huge hug guys. Love spending time there

One of our favorites in the area. It's easy to become a regular at Sesame. Very tasty traditional Greek food and some delicious variations. Always busy on weekends, especially Sunday. Come early or make reservations if you can. Excellent and friendly service.
